Chyrp (previously Lingua) is a project I've been working on for years. I began recoding it from scratch in August, and the deadline is set for Christmas. It's getting there, and right now it's in bug hunting status. I could really use some help with that.
In a sentence, Chyrp is a lightweight, modular blogging engine that lets you post whatever you want, however you want. It uses Feathers, which are a form of dynamic post-types, so your install can be anything from a full-fledged blog (a-lá WordPress) or a simple Tumblelog (the Feathers are modular, e.g. you could install a Photo Feather). But really, it's whatever you want it to be. A modules system is in place as well, and there are already some major ones like Comments, Tags, and various markup formats (Textile, MarkDown, etc.).
I'd really like to get a bug-free (or near it) release out for Christmas, but right now there aren't [m]any testers. I'd really appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks, let me know how it goes. Still not sure if everything's working ok. In particular, the importers and the installer need checking.

It's been released now, if anyone's interested. Didn't get many testers in the end but a lot of things were fixed.
Merry Christmas!

I'll take a look as time permits. I am definitely intrigued by the basic premise of chyrp. Whatever happens, good luck!

Thanks jark.
I went and put a demo up. In case someone breaks the rule specified in the first post and deletes it, the account info is Demo / demo.
