It has been about 10 days since I last blogged (I went on a vacation for the Christmas/New Year holiday period). Now that I'm back, I'm finding it pretty hard to just start writing again, even though I have a few stories I already want to tell. It's not an issue of subject matter -- it's not writer's block -- it's a matter of fluidity and voice, of getting the momentum back.

Normally, I just handle this by simply sitting down and forcing myself to write and put something out there, even though it may take a lot more time than normal. Still, I was wondering how other people handle this when/if it happens to them. What do you do when you have to regain your momentum? Do you read other blogs? Do you comment on forums? Do you write a "Notes" entry? What do you do?

Fortunately I always keep a few unfinished posts in the queue.

Normally so do I. In fact, I still have some. Problem is the content I want to put up is sort of time sensitive, what with the new year and all.

well, when I'm in mourning about not being able to write I like to write about how I have nothing to write...
just kiddin...
I like our blog, NICE set up!!

Hi, I have never used notes before on 9rules. I just tend to lurk around, but it's de-lurk week and here I am.

Well, about the longest I go without writing something is about one day. I do tend to burn out on topics or types of entries. I hit about two different forums regularly and when inspiration isn't there... I start hitting all the blogs on my site link list, usually after 15 or 20 minutes I'm thinking of something to blog about.
