I just love this slideshow: 5 books that play around with type in very surprising ways. Uber creative, much?

Very nice. I love when people go crazy with typography to make for a more visual experience.

#1 is unique. If the text is like that all the way through I wonder if it becomes tedious reading it.

I like #3 most. I mean - if it's a ransom & kidnapping novel it'll be friggin hilarious to read!

That last book looks quite interesting, I'll slap that on my reading list :)

That last book is Lanark by Alasdair Gray. It's awesome. It has a list of all the plagiarisms the author confesses to have used to various degrees. It's hilarious. The other ones looked pretty cool too. Good find.

You've read it, Nils?!

I'm not sure I could read these! The different types would be too distracting! But they look cool for a quick browse through (:

Oops, missed that one Eli. Hope you do have RSS for this note and then read it too ;)

Yep, read it, ages ago and I forgot most of it. It's quite gloomy and confusing and gloomy. Did I say it was confusing? And gloomy?

If you do want to start with Gray, there's his short stories, esp. Letters From an Eastern Empire which is hilarious and breathtakingly beautiful. Must-read as far as I'm concerned.

Yesh, I have feed for every of the Chawlk sites. Gloomy and confusing. =( So much for creative typography.

@Katelyn:

But they look cool for a quick browse through (:
